Originally opened in October of 1998, The Refuge quickly gained acclaim as the "Best Purely Public Golf Course in Mississippi."  Known throughout the Magnolia State and beyond for the impeccable conditioning of the course and the outstanding customer service, The Refuge truly provides the daily fee golfer with country club conditions....without the country club prices!

This Roy Case-designed layout is also unique in its setting from other courses in the region.   Literally raised from a hardwood swamp, the course was routed through stands of towering pines and centuries-old oaks --- preserving the pristine wetlands found throughout the property.  The rolling fairways of emerald green wind their way through this "golf only" oasis isolated from any sprawling residential development.  In fact, instead of sharing the fairways at The Refuge with houses, you'll be sharing it with some of our "locals" shown below:

For junior golfers, there’s even "The Wee Links at The Refuge," a three hole course created solely for the benefit of juniors.  In fact, adults are not allowed on the Wee Links without "child supervision!"  There’s no cost to play the Wee Links and it provides an excellent opportunity for children of all ages to learn the game as it was meant to be played, without the anxiety of playing a regulation golf course.  It's also a great opportunity for parents to spend quality time with their children while introducing them to the game.  The Refuge is also the home of the USGA/LPGA Mary Ann Edge Junior Girls Golf School of Mississippi.

You owe it to yourself to see why everyone is raving about The Refuge!  Generous greens with no-less-than-perfect putting surfaces, exceptional customer service, fully-stocked golf shop, the Refuge Grill, and attention to the smallest of details make golf at The Refuge more than just a game--it’s an experience!

Proper golf attire is required at The Refuge.  This includes no "cut-off" shorts, no metal spikes on shoes, and gentlemen are required to wear a shirt with a collar.
